Laughter is the Best Medicine Blogfest
Okay, it's time for the above, hosted by Leigh T. Moore and Dr K. From the moment I signed up for this, I had a joke in mind. It's the joke I always tell people whenever they ask me to tell a joke. It's the only joke I really know off by heart. I love it, because...well, it's lame. And I like lame. ;)
So here goes...my joke! (Paraphrased slightly; it's been so long since I heard/saw the original that I don't know EXACTLY how it goes...)
The baby tomato was walking along the street with his mummy and daddy, and he was falling behind. The daddy tomato turned around and yelled, "Oh, KETCHUP!"
I guess it's a little ironic that I love this joke so much, when I'm an Aussie and we don't even call it ketchup - it's tomato sauce, people!! Still, that's my joke and I'm sticking to it. ;)

I know which movie I first heard that one from. :) Cool blogfest.
ReplyDeleteReally?? Which one? I may have seen it myself & got the joke from there. :P I just remember liking the joke when I was about 12... lol
ReplyDeleteROFL! Now that's a groan-worthy one ;O)
ReplyDeleteBTW Who is hosting the blogfest? :O)
ReplyDeleteI edited with a link, but I see you already found the blogfest! :D
ReplyDeleteit's also spelled "catchup".
ReplyDeleteIt is?? :P
ReplyDeleteAh, food based puns. The highest form of humor. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove it! This also reminds me about the strawberries who were in a jam...
ReplyDeleteHahah! Love!
ReplyDeleteAnd this reminds me of a story my best friend told me a couple of weeks ago. Her family moved to New Zealand (from Washington, DC) last fall. She sent her husband to the grocery store to buy what we call tomato sauce for a dish she was preparing. He came back with a can of tomato sauce that was actually ketchup. Lesson learned!

ReplyDeleteWould you believe that is the exact background story I used to name a Hobbit character in the MMO LOTRo?? Indeed Im rather sad .. & new here.

That's one of my daughter's favorites too. You can never go wrong with food puns! :-)
ReplyDelete@Sarah, glad somebody thinks so. LOL
ReplyDelete@Liz - aww that's so cute!! Guess it could be about apricots in a jam too :D
@Jessica - wheeee!
@VB - it's not easy moving countries, esp. to weird places like NZ. hehe j/k (my heritage is Kiwi)
@Sophie - what exactly was your character's name? lol
@Hart - I've got a friend who teaches pre-school, her stories are really cute :)
@The Red Angel - it's cute partly 'cause it has a baby tomato in it. I love baby things (well, except actual babies ... haha)
@Laurel - agreed! Your daughter has excellent taste in jokes :P
I love it! And we have tomato sauce! Only it's slightly different and put on pizza, not fries. :D Thanks for playing~ <3
ReplyDeleteOkay, adorable! Loved this one!
ReplyDeleteNice. I appreciate lame jokes, too.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: if you call ketchup tomato sauce, what do you call tomato sauce?
To an above comment: ketchup is technically spelled catchup. Everyone just spells it different because of the brand.
ReplyDeleteWell, that shows how much I know about ketchup :D I have a good excuse, being Australian. hehe
ReplyDelete@Teralyn - if you mean tomato sauce as described above by LTM, then i guess we call it pizza sauce. Though I only ever have tomato paste on my pizza bases (when I'm making them).
That is too cute! Love that gorgeous tomato photo.
ReplyDeleteHehe, I can't claim it's mine, I found it on Google. But it's noice eh?
