Laughter is the Best Medicine Blogfest

Okay, it's time for the above, hosted by Leigh T. Moore and Dr K. From the moment I signed up for this, I had a joke in mind. It's the joke I always tell people whenever they ask me to tell a joke. It's the only joke I really know off by heart. I love it, because...well, it's lame. And I like lame. ;)

So here goes...my joke! (Paraphrased slightly; it's been so long since I heard/saw the original that I don't know EXACTLY how it goes...)

The baby tomato was walking along the street with his mummy and daddy, and he was falling behind. The daddy tomato turned around and yelled, "Oh, KETCHUP!"

I guess it's a little ironic that I love this joke so much, when I'm an Aussie and we don't even call it ketchup - it's tomato sauce, people!! Still, that's my joke and I'm sticking to it. ;)

Yes, I decided to go with a novel I'm not really working on that vigorously right now, because I'm happier with its opening line than I am with most of my other novels' opening lines. Haha. Though I must admit that I may be discarding my entire first chapter of this novel in future. Anyway...

There you go! Easy blogfest, simple rules, lots of fun. Now I'm off to read other people's first lines. :)
