I was just going to stick to whatever, and admit that I have been approaching every day in the A-Z lately with a "OMG" and "WTF" sort of attitude. ;) In other words, OMG I have no ideas, and WTF am I going to do for this letter? But there are a few good Ws out there. Ooh, that reminds me...
This one time (not at band camp), I think I was talking about words that started with W (or maybe bands; knowing me that'd be likely) and I said, "There aren't many, but there are a few good Ws"... And then I was like, "Hey! Instead of A Few Good Men it's A Few Good Ws..." Anyway, now that I'm done with that tangent, let's get on with the post.
Whatever - it is a word I love to use, and I use it very often. It even starts out one of my own songs. I also make my characters say it a fair bit. Hehe. Depending on the novel, anyway.
Wiggles - all I can really say is...uuuugggggh, not a fan. ;)
Weezer - me loves this band! Especially songs like "The World Has Turned And Left Me Here" and "Say It Ain't So".
Woody's A Girl - this is my "one woman band" name, and it was inspired by a friend's kitten who everybody thought was a boy, but then turned out to be a girl. The kitten's name was Woody. She died pretty young, poor poppet!
Aaand...some of my favourite W songs:
- "Waiting" - The Smashing Pumpkins
- "Waitress" - Live
- "Wait and Bleed" - Slipknot
- "Waiting All Day" - Silverchair
- "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" - Michael Jackson
- "Walking Back To Me" - Sam Brown
- "Wave of Anguish" - Lacuna Coil
- "Waves" - Superette
- "Waves" - Holly Miranda
- "We Die Young" - Alice in Chains
- "Well Might Again" - Corvus
- "What Is Love" - Haddaway
- "What She Said" - Laura Imbruglia
- "Where Boys Fear To Tread" - The Smashing Pumpkins
- "Where The River Goes" - Stone Temple Pilots
- "White Slavery" - Type O Negative
- "Whitechocolatespaceegg" - Liz Phair
- "Wild Thing" - Liz Phair
- "Wilma's Rainbow" - Helmet
- "Winnebago" - Foo Fighters
- "Within You" - David Bowie
- "Without A Reason" - Lacuna Coil
- "Woman In Chains" - Tears for Fears
- "Wonderful Life" - Black
- "Wooden Jesus" - Temple of the Dog
- "Words" - Madonna
- "Work" - Jimmy Eat World
- "Worry" - Magic Dirt
Since I have grand ideas about forward planning and never actually do anything, I've had some of those OMG moments. Dunno what I'll be posting for W, but I'll think of something by morning. :D Who know there were so many W songs.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is quite a list of words! I hear you on the having no ideas thing... I'm still wondering where a couple of my posts came from!
ReplyDeleteDang! I meant that's quite a list of songs.
ReplyDeleteI love "Work!" Going to listen to it now, in fact :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThere were more "W" songs but I only posted some ;)
ReplyDeleteBess, it's a great song! :D I saw those guys at a music festival last year, they were cool!
The next letter has me befuzzled. X. But I have tried to come up with fresh stuff ever since the challenge started. One thing for sure, it really WAS challenge. We had a kitten named Lily. Then we had to change it to Mr. Lily. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSmashing Pumpkins! I love the beginning is the end is the beginning. Great song list.
ReplyDeleteEdge of Your Seat Romance
X...yeah...that one should be fun :D
ReplyDeleteRaquel - I love pretty much all their music, from very old (ike, pre-first EP) to new :D Even some of the VERY new stuff isn't bad ;)
Wiggles. Must. Go. Away. they make me feel, well, violent and dirty.
ReplyDeleteTell you what, those hand movements the Wiggles do... Ugh!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Rach
Mehehehe, glad I could remind others of the horror that is the Wiggles - I don't like to suffer alone :P
ReplyDeleteGee what a biaaatch!
I'm feeling old...Except for David Bowie I'm not familiar with any of the bands. And as for Wiggles...from the comments, I'm glad I don't know what they are!
ReplyDeleteNow I have the song "Wanna be Starting Something" stuck in my head!
ReplyDeleteI'm having sort of a 'whatever' day but I'm hoping it gets better. Great post!
@Bish - there is a fair bit of 80s/90s music in that list ;) Including Madonna, Tears For Fears, etc. :D As well as some much more recent stuff of course. ;)
ReplyDelete@Clarissa - I hope that is a good thing for you! LOL. I love the song, myself. I hope your day gets better too! I know the feeling. Today I wanted to stay at home snuggled on the couch - it's finally started raining a lot and I looove rainy days, but not so much when I'm at work. ;)
Almost at the end of the alphabet... Don't have to approach the day with any more expletives!
ReplyDeleteLook at you go! You found lots of stuff for W! Great list of music, by the way. Oh, and I cringed when my sons like the Wiggles. Glad they're over that.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! :O)
ReplyDeleteWow, that's quite a list of songs!
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing list of W songs! Great Stuff!
ReplyDeleteWow! I never knew there were that many "w" songs. Great post. Blessings, Joanne
ReplyDeleteWow, there are A Few Good W's out there! Impressive list.
ReplyDeleteOh, I hear 'whatever' enough that I can't think of a ruder word... having a teen is a joy... I like Weezer, too, but I love much of your song list!
ReplyDeleteI get in trouble whenever I use "whatever" (might be the tone I use lol). Great list of songs.
ReplyDeleteI say, 'whatever' far too often, but I try to keep the tone light as in 'whatever makes you happy' rather than 'I'm just saying whatever because talking to you is freakin' waste of time.'
ReplyDeleteTomorrow: the letter X. Now that's scary.
VR, I know...I'm straining my brain right now! :P
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for the comments!
When you said the Wiggles, I was thinking of actually physically wiggling. It took some of the comments to get that TV show to the front of my mind.
ReplyDeleteHehe, Brooke I could have mentioned actual physical wiggling too I guess :P Or eyebrow wiggling.
ReplyDeleteBut wait, that's waggling!
