The A-to-Z blogging challenge of 2013 is going on, and today we're on the letter E! My theme for 2013 is an A-to-Z list of classic Aussie tunes - either classic or just plain songs I like. For "E" I've chosen:
Baby Animals are a band from my hometown who hit it rather big in the early 90s with their most famous song "One Word", which I recently learned Suzie deMarchi (lead singer & guitarist in the band) didn't even like, and didn't want on the album. She loves it now, she assured us in the crowd. :) Anyway, I have picked "Early Warning" because I think it just plain rocks. I hope you enjoy it!
Honourable mentions:
- Empty by Rebecca's Empire (original vid with worse sound)
- Eyes Wide Open by Gotye
- Endless Sea by Hang On St. Christopher
- Europe by Do the Robot
- Everlasting by Horsell Common
- Even When I'm Sleeping by Leonardo's Bride
Fun theme! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Good luck with the A-Z!
ReplyDeleteFun song! My teaching partner just came through the room and said, "Sounds like the '80s!" Close but not quite, I guess.
ReplyDeleteWell, in a way I guess it could be thought of as akin to some 80's rock. But not the hair metal type :D
DeleteCool song... I liked it ... Thanks for sharing Trisha!
ReplyDeleteGreat theme. I decided to just wing it, so no theme for me. Thanks for visiting my blog. =]
ReplyDeleteFun topic and a great E playlist. I'm off to check out your lists from A-D. :) www.jadiejones.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGreat song! I'm finding a bunch of things to add to my playlists thanks to your theme.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of this band before. Thanks for the video!
ReplyDeleteNot heard of this band in my part of the world.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting.
JO ON FOOD, MY TRAVELS AND A SCENT OF CHOCOLATE
Cool tune.
ReplyDeleteEyes Wide Open by Gotye is a great choice, too.
Yeah, that's a beautiful song isn't it??
DeleteWhat a great theme for the blog challenge. I love learning about bands I'm not familiar with. I love the old stuff on any continent. MM
ReplyDeleteI like this one! :)
ReplyDeleteSo many bands that are new to me! I'll have to make a YouTube playlist...
ReplyDeleteI liked the song! Tanks! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't play music vids on my computer right now, but your theme is very interesting. I did a music theme for my A to Z challenge last year. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteWhat about "Electric Blue" by Icehouse? I really liked that song back in the 80s.
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot to put that on there!! Maybe because I have another Icehouse song to feature later on ;) But I still would have put that in the honourable mentions if I had not somehow forgotten. Must have accidentally deleted it from my list as I was culling.
DeleteI like this, had my feet moving. Plus, I'd like to be able to pull off the short hair the way she does. Mine's too curly.
ReplyDeleteShannon at The Warrior Muse

ReplyDeleteI saw the Baby Animals live not too long ago. AWESOME!
And Suze is still sexy as hell.
