The name of this blogfest - or rather, this Gary fest - caught my attention immediately, and I knew I had to sign up. In fact, I kind of decided I had to sign up even before I knew what it was about. Ha. So here I am today to participate, but first I'll tell you what this *fest's about.
Announcing the "Anti-Blogfest Gary Fest" on August 12, a blog hop in honor of Mr. anti-blog hop himself, Gary at Klahanie
Hosted by
- Mark “Madman” Koopmans (The brainchild behind the whole thing)
- Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh
- Rockin’ Robyn Engel
- “Life is Good” Tina
- Morgan Shamy
The rules are *very* simple.
Create the titles of three PG-13 rated blogfests you would never join - and then add a descriptive sentence or two. That's it! (see some hilarious examples here)
So, with that in mind, I would not recommend or participate in the following blogfests. Not ever.
- The Celebrate Your <3 of Hawaiian Pizza Blogfest - "hate Hawaiian pizza? get lost!"
- The Great Knit-Along 3-Week Blogfest - "knit as if your life depends on it"
- Stand Up Comedy Blog Festival - "post video of your own stand-up routine!"
Nope, I would never sign up for those either ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat Knit-Along Fest? Awesome! :D
ReplyDeleteHere are mine!
The Stand Up Comedy Blog Festival sounds like a real winner. Hey, there are some really good ideas out ther today.
ReplyDeleteThat last one I'd scare people away with
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Knitting? Hawaiian pizza??? LOL! So random! And number three??? Oh my gosh... that's frightening!
ReplyDeleteYou nailed this, Trisha. Too funny!
Oh, I COMPLETELY agree! I'm a pineapple purist... really doesn't belong with meat in any way. And video of moi? Yeah. Not happening. I have a hard enough time speaking when there won't be an eternal record of the matter.
ReplyDeleteI'm finding so much creativity out there today, it's just a pleasure getting to read all of these. And I do knit a LOT, so that totally cracked me up.
ReplyDeleteTina @ Life is Good
I think I would join the first one, hahaha. And Mother Dragon the second one.
ReplyDeleteHi Trisha .. thanks for explaining the blogfest - I never seem to get round to that ...
ReplyDeleteNope .. not good with pizza! I hate knitting .. perhaps because I can't wear wool - eliminates that thought .. and then the comedy - no don't get me standing up in front of anyone - let alone the world!
Cheers - definitely no noes in my book too .. cheers Hilary
That stand up one sounds brutal. Funny I'm not. But wouldn't it be a blast to make people laugh.
ReplyDeleteI see a woman around here - in coffee shops, walking downtown, and at the Farmer's Market - who knits as if her life depends on it. I bet she does it in her sleep. I'd never join that blogfest. I have no patience to learn how to knit.
ReplyDeleteBut I admit I do like pineapples on my pizza.
Thanks for your contributions to the blogfest, Trisha, and for stopping by my blog.
Great to meet and, now, follow you.
xoRobyn
Knit if my life depended on it? I'm dead!
ReplyDeletei have a joke about knitting and pineapple on my pizza... yummy.
ReplyDeleteThe Blog-fest that make me want to say "NO"...

Ooh, this sounds like fun! I'd go crazy if I tried to commit to another fest so soon though, especially with the Campaign coming up.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to everyone's entries for this one!
Knitting no thanks? Pizza hmm.... Making myself look stupid with stand up? Sign me up! Nice ones.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Because who doesn't want to celebrate Hawaiian Pizza? It's got CHEESE on it! ;)
ReplyDeleteI gave up on knitting years ago and I could never do stand up.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to try pineapple on pizza.
I think I would lose all my followers if I joined the standup one!
ReplyDeleteOkay, now that third one would be a blast. To watch OTHER bloggers do, that is. Good ones!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to jump on the comedic bandwagon for that third one--I think you should mull that over a bit:) I know a certain witty guy with a canine sidekick that would rock a stand-up fest!
ReplyDeleteI tried Hawaiian pizza once years ago, and didn't care for it too much. It's probably an acquired taste, though obviously I couldn't eat it anymore since it has ham.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine a combination of these three blogfests? Something like The Pizza-Induced Knitting-Related Stand-Up Comedy Bloghop... let your crafted creativity loose!*hee hee*
ReplyDeleteA triple no-no to your blogfest boo-boos!

Snort, giggle... There have been some very clever anti-blog suggestions, and yours are great. I can just see someone knitting away while eating an Hawaiian pizza and doing a stand-up routine. :D
ReplyDeleteThat said, I'd love a knitting fest :-)
ReplyDeleteWe both hate Hawaiian Pizza! Petwey!
ReplyDeleteWHAT? Hate Hawaiian pizza - well, that's just hula hula horrible.
ReplyDeleteHopping by from the anti-blogfest ~

Gidday Trisha,
ReplyDeleteWhenever I think of Australia, the name Alice Springs to mind. Don't worry, I wont come up with a load of silly puns, it's all you Canberra.
Awesome non-choices! Non-choice number one and do you eat pizza with your fingers. Or do you eat them separately. Non-choice number two. I went to the "Comedy Knitting" workshop. Had me in stitches. Non-choice number three and watch a comic strip. Yep, a naked stand-up comedian. Sit down! Please! Sit down and cover yourself! :)
Thanks for being involved in the anti-blogfest. Yes, I hate blogfests. What a surprise.
Oh the irony.
Gary :)
I like Michelle and Gary's idea of combining the blogfests. Of course we would have to invite Dr. Kevorkian to the after party! Very funny Trisha!
ReplyDeleteJulie
I wouldn't sign up for those, either. But I would like to watch the stand up comedy routines!
ReplyDeleteKnitting? No way. I'd read the stand up comedy ones, though! Fun choices :)
ReplyDeleteYou got me, I would probably sign up for the Hawaiian Pizza blogfest (minus the meat part). I love Hawaiian pizza, pineapple all the way :)
ReplyDeleteStand Up Comedy blogfest? I wouldn't even let my broom bristles touch it. Though I would definitely check out other people's posts.
Great ideas Trisha.
I hate Hawaiian pizza, but I think i'd do a knit-athon. that could be fun. And stand up? I'll leave that for my more talented comrades and sit in the audience laughing.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE pineapple on my pizza - but I usually have mushrooms instead of ham YUMMY :)
ReplyDeleteThese are great - definitely not signing up for the last 2!! :)
