OH. my. GOSH. It's over. I am about to start crying with gratitude. Almost, but not quite. Instead I'll just heave another sigh of relief (or twenty...) and report that my final word count for both novels is 100,827. That is a Scrivener (for Mac, if it matters) word count. I just validated my novel on the NaNo site and the word count there is...100,018. WOW. That's uncomfortably close to less than 100k. Maybe I should tack on a few more words, just to create some kind of buffer? haha. No, I'm not that desperate.
But anyway, to break it down a bit more, here are the word counts as they stand (keeping in mind that neither is finished):
DANNA: 50,606
VICTORIOUS: 50,221
Now I'm going to go and stare at a wall. A very big wall. For a very long time. Or, well, the next hour or so before it's bedtime. If it wasn't a school night, I'd be having another glass of wine. Then again, maybe I will anyway.
On iTunes, a Dream Theater song is playing. "The Count of Tuscany". It runs to 19:16 minutes. I do believe this is my first listen.
Whoop! You won. -does happy dance- I need to start making a list of all things happy dance worthy!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've always heard that the NaNo counter doesn't agree with Scrivener and Open Office.
Wow, congratulations!! I'm so impressed, that's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteWow! You've done awesome!! It's definitely time to celebrate, perhaps take a nap too. *laughs*
ReplyDeleteWooT!! WooT!! Congratulations. That was a huge goal!!
ReplyDeleteYou always blow my mind when I read about your writerly accomplishments. Many congratulations to you on not only finishing Nano but doing it on two novels.
ReplyDeleteSorry I've been MIA here... so many things happened lately.
It's always a pleasure to read your blog. Take care.
Grats! 100K! WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteGood job! 100k makes me tired just thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! That is an awesome feat. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! That's an amazing word count. :)

ReplyDeletethat is great! congrats.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love Dream Theater too.
Holy cow, that's a lot. Congrats! (I think I may join you in staring at the wall. This year's NaNoWriMo sure was eventful. lol.)
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!! I made it too - 100489 is my official final count. Can't believe I made it to six digits.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! And you're listening to some good music as well.

Wow, it's surprising what the difference is in the word counts! There's a slight difference between Scrivener and Word, but not like that. I wonder if some folks missed a 'win' because of it?
ReplyDelete~Debbie
You won twice over! Congrats! :throws confetti:
ReplyDeletecongrat! :D Next year, I may consider writing two novels also, but probably the second one wont be as big XD Will depend on how good/fast I be writing by then.
ReplyDeleteHooray!!!(*blows through an obnoxious kazoo*)
ReplyDeleteFabulous job; my mind reels at writing two novels at the same time. You deserve way more than a blank wall and a glass of wine. Lol. :)
Thanks everyone! I appreciate your very excellent cheerleading! hehe
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Not sure why the word count differs... I'm not a Scrivener user (yet).
ReplyDeleteYou should get a double win for 100,000+ like in Double Jeopardy! Congrats!
ReplyDelete@Rachel - if you have a blog, post me a link! Your blogger profile isn't displayed. :)
ReplyDelete@Jon - thank you!
Well done you - what an amazing finale!
ReplyDeleteHope you recover soon and get some warm glow of satisfaction going instead of that 'stare at the wall urge!'
