So far in 2011, I've finished reading the following books:

The Phantom of the Opera
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass
City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments #2)
The Tales of Beedle the Bard
Of Mice and Men
Cat Dreamer
Mother Love
City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1)
Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1)
Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1)
Crush (Indigo: Sensuous Love Stories)
Burmese Days (Penguin Modern Classics)
Breakfast at Tiffany's (Popular Penguins)
Curiosity Thrilled the Cat (Magical Cats Mystery, #1)
Grotesque
About a Girl
Pride and Prejudice
The Brutal Art
The Calling
To Kill a Mockingbird
Piratica
Body Surfing
The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner (Twilight, #3.5)
Towers of Midnight (Wheel of Time, #13; A Memory of Light, #2)

The Gathering Storm (Wheel of Time, #12; A Memory of Light, #1)

Currently I'm reading this:

City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments #3)

And who knows what I'll read next?! I have an entire shelf on my "to be read before I read anything else" shelf. And then I have most of another bookcase full of books - my "to be read at some point" collection. Just a note before I post this...I've definitely added a few titles to my "favourites" shelf at GoodReads this year. And you can see my reviews of all these titles on GoodReads (some are more extensive than others). As for non-spoiler reviews, I wrote about "Grotesque" and "The Brutal Art" in this blog.

  1. Impressive list! I like that you are mixing classics with new stuff... I will look for you on Goodreads. I don't think we're connected there, yet, but it looks like we have overlap in what we like.

  2. Wow, what a list. I wish I could read more books. I miss it. Maybe when I catch up on deadlines. :)

  3. That is impressive! Wish I had time for more than marketing books right now.

  4. I try to give myself at least half an hour to read before lights out. And then I read while waiting for the bus in the morning. And I sometimes get to read at lunch time at work. But that's it ;)

  5. Impressive. It's a great mix of classics & modern you've read.

Ooh I can see at least 4 that you may have also seen as films for my blogfest LOL! :O)

  6. What an awesome list (and mix) of books! I've read some of those, and some are on my TBR pile. I just looked for City of Ashes at my library this week, but it was out. I thought continuing to read that series would be a perfect summer thing.

  8. Nice! I've read a few of those. And my TBR pile reaches the sky right now. We need more hours in the day to read.

  11. Love reading your list. I just finished "Secrets of Eden" by Chris Bohajalian (may not have spelled that right). A bit long but a good read with a satisfying ending. The character I liked but got vilified ended up being heroic in the end!

  12. @Charlotte - thanks, I've added that one to my TBR...I've got well over 200 books on it right nw. Hehe.

@Madeleine - touché! ;) Got to sign up for that!!

@VB - I bought Clare's books from Book Depository. Can't help myself, there are some books I just have to own.

@Liz - those are both pretty good but "Body Surfing" was my preference.

@Karen - I know how that is! My TBR list is 200+ on GoodReads.

@Golden Eagle - yeah, I try to mix it up. hehe

@Lynda - I know how you feel - I was staring at my "TBR right now" shelf last night in absolute consternation. ;)

  13. Great list! I'm quite amazing with how many books I've read this year (because I'm studying) I read a non fiction book for 1 or 2 nights between novels.
Gets so hard when the 'must read' grows faster than I can read. x

  15. @Michelle - I don't think I've read any non-fiction books this year. Did read one or two last year though. I have some on my TBR shelf. Mostly it's fiction though!

@Danette - me too! More time would be awesome indeed.

  17. @Deniz - I recently completed a re-read of books 1-10, so I could read books 11-13 for the first time. hehe. Now just waiting for the last one to come out! Can't believe it's all so near to ending!! *sniffle*

  18. I can't get into City of Glass for some reason. I've read the other two. I don't know why. I'll have to give it some time and try again.

  19. @Shelley - well, I was a little "grossed out" so to speak by the 2nd book, so I'm reading the 3rd in the hopes of that grossness being resolved. Hehe
