For the
Lunar Lovin' blogfest, we had to go outside on January 27th and take pics of the full moon. Below are the results of my experiments with my "even more crap than most crap point-and-shoot cameras" camera:

Now onto the and
Reintroduce Yourself blogfest, and here are the basic guidelines:
Simply take a moment and tell us something interesting about yourself. Anything. It can be about writing. Or blogging. Or a hidden talent. Perhaps you’re in the Witness Protection Program.
For my post I thought I'd just expand on what's already visible on my blogger profile description:
- I'm a Western Australian writer - yep, been writing since I was a little kid, and I've got the archive of hand-written stories to prove it
- , singer-songwriter - singing also runs in my family, which is notorious for harmonising. I grew up singing, and in my mid-20s started songwriting
- , fine artist - another thing I've done since I was a kid, and for longer even than I've been writing. One of my goals this year is to get back into my fine art
- and traveller - I've travelled since before exiting the womb, and either it was in my blood to begin with or was a gene I inherited from my dad. ;) I've travelled a lot, including 2 world trips, but I still have a lot more to do!
- . I'm also a cat lover - indeed I am a cat person, maybe because I grew up with them. I also claim it's 'cause I'm a Leo, but I know Leos who aren't cat fans. I think I'm becoming allergic, but I persist 'cause j'adore ze kittehs
- and a rabid music fan. - as a non-religious person, I had to have something to cling to - ha - and I guess it turned out to be music. Music is my religion, it's my oxygen and I spend quality time with it every single day.
Good morning, Trisha! How fun to introduce ourselves to someone across the globe. Check us out at http://citymusecountrymuse2012.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteIts amazing how multi-talented writers are. I love art (my second love) and need to get back into sketching and painting.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you. I can't draw or paint to save my life. Or sing for that matter. I do have three cats though.
ReplyDeleteWhat fantastic moon pics! Great to re-meet you, and though I have a dog at home that I adore, I'm also a cat lover...just don't tell my dog. (:
ReplyDeleteWell, it does sometimes happen that cats and dogs peacefully (or at least cheerfully) co-exist! hehe
DeleteIt's a good thing I didn't join the moon blogfest because it was a blizzard out there last night. No moon for me to see. lol
ReplyDeleteWant to compare giant stacks of notebooks? I wrote like crazy when I was young, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love cats!
Two world trips! I'm just a teeny bit envious... I'd be happy with one :-)
ReplyDeleteNice to re-meet you, Trisha! And wow, nice moon shots! It was a glorious full moon the other night on the other side of the world but unfortunately I didn't take pictures. I did take a few moments to really enjoy it, though. A real beauty to be sure.
ReplyDeleteLiked the last picture through the plants best. More character. A world trip is something I'd definitely like to do.
ReplyDeleteWe share a lot, except the world trips and cats. I would love to travel, though. Cats and I don't get along well. They don't like dragons. :) Nice too re-meet you, Trisha.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. We have much in common. I think the moon through the trees with the flash is beautiful. You at least tried. I stared at the moon last night, remarked on its beauty, grumbled about crap camera, and went inside defeated :-).
ReplyDeleteNice to re-meet you Trisha. Around the world twice? Wow! I'm still working on across the U.S.A. Great moon shots.
ReplyDeleteMercy, Trisha, I need some of your energy! You have quite the resume. Anybody who loves kitties is all right in my book, so I believe I'll join your blog. Nice to meet you! :)
ReplyDeleteWahoo!! Kitty lovers unite!
DeleteHey Trisha, Great to meet you. I am a traveller and would have enjoyed traveling since my father took us on a cross country trip when I was 8.
ReplyDeleteI admire musical talent in anyone because I have none except for the listening. Got to love those kitties.
ReplyDeleteTrisha, I love your experimental moon pics!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to re-meet you, especially as a fellow singer-songwriter too...
It will be very interesting to discover how many writers are also musicians...
I do know of a few, but not all that many... perhaps there are more I just haven't discovered yet :)
DeleteTwo world trips already - wow! I'm hoping to be able to do that when I retire. I love your last point. Music is my oxygen too.
ReplyDeleteI took the guidelines literally and just posted one obscure fact rather than a general bio of myself. Oh well, lol.
ReplyDeleteI envy that you're so multitalented in different arty fields. My post demonstrates that I'm not! :) Great pics too, I love the last one. What sort of trees are they?
Nick, I did briefly try to think of one thing, but found this idea easier. ;) The trees are frangipanis but I believe in the US they're called something else... Oh, I think it's plumeria??
DeleteI wish I had the talent for some artistic endeavor in addition to writing, but I am tone deaf (or might as well be) and am lacking in fine motor skills. I can make fairly identifiable art... but it ain't pretty. My family would call that travel bug 'itchy feet'
ReplyDeleteHart, I think the world might implode if you had anything else on your to-do list than what you already have. ;) You sure know how to keep busy as it is!
DeleteHi, Trisha,
ReplyDeleteI am SOOOO with you on the music thing. I love music ... all kinds, it is so mood altering!
Love your pics, especially the third moon pic through the branches!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! It's fun learning things about other writers.
I like your moon pictures! I'm a big music fan, too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with getting back to your art! I love drawing pictures (with colored pencils and markers), though I haven't regularly done it for a long time.
ReplyDeleteNice moon shots... I especially like the one without flash.
ReplyDeleteNice to re-meet ya. We have even more in common that I realized. I thought I was the only one in the world who grew up in an extended family of harmonizers. We may not have sounded like the Von Trapps, but we sure had fun!
I love the moon shots! I forgot about this blog fest, looking forward to seeing the other entries. I always love photos of the full moon.
ReplyDeleteAnother kitteh lover here. :)
My favorite moon photo was the one without flash through the trees. Just a hint of branches surrounding the moon.
ReplyDeleteTotally approve of music as religion. I know the feeling well. So nice to meet you!! : ]
I think music is a great way to speak to your soul. I love music! Next time you go on a world trip... take me!
ReplyDeleteLove the moon shots! And have fun with the music.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the moon and nice to re-meet you :)
ReplyDeleteHey there, Trisha! Love the moony goodness, especially the shot of the moon framed by the branches.
ReplyDeleteOnce that travel bug bites, it never lets go, does it? :)
Yay for cats!
ReplyDeleteI've taken a lot of photos of the moon. Yours turned out quite well.
Nice to meet you. I'm a music fanatic also and LOVE to sing. I think I might have been a rock star in my past life.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you! I'm a music fanatic as well and a cat lover, artist, writer. Lots in common! I'm also now new to this blog. Have a great week! www.caledonialass.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteOoh, shiny moon pictures! Nice. I'm a cat person too; dogs are just too hyper and barky.
ReplyDeleteAnd slobbery! hehe. I'll admit sometimes my cats lick me though. Mostly if my hand gets too close.
DeleteI'm a cat lover too! Dogs scare me!
ReplyDeleteGood to meet you. You've taken beautiful moon shots. Wishing you luck with your goal for the fine arts.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you again! It seems your world evolves around all kinds of artforms, which is a very very good thing, I think.
ReplyDeleteLove the shot of the moon through the trees--my favourite.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted a Himalayan Persian, but got a chihuahua instead. Adore my Foxy Lady!
You are one creative lady Trisha. I wish I had more time to explore drawing/painting...I've bought all the stuff...just waiting for the moment...
Hope the weather has settled in Freyo. We had a pretty nasty ex-cyclone that was far from ex, with destructive winds and now we're flooding...again...sigh. School return has been cancelled, but the sun is shining...
The weather over here is the opposite of what you are getting! It's getting steamier this week. I hate it! ;) But I can't envy the destructiveness of those storms. I hope you and yours are all safe!
DeleteGreat blog hop. Nice to meet you (again) Trisha =D
ReplyDeleteGreat blogfest and reaction from everyone. Cats are such sensitive creatures and so affectionate.
ReplyDeleteNice to re-meet you. Those images of the moon make me think of glowing pearls.
ReplyDeleteI'd bet you get lots of inspiration from your travels.
I'm right there with you about music!! I enjoyed being re-introduced to you. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your pics, and I really liked your re-introduce post - it's fun getting to know you a little more.
ReplyDeleteFun post Trisha- it's funny how much we have in common although I don't think we really like the same music and we might not read the same books but I bet we could harmonize the hell out of any song! Music is definitely my heart & soul!
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in on me whilst I was taking a wee break. Cheers my friend!
Love your "Through the tree branches" pic! You know, it never occurred to me to use the flash! (Duh.) Thanks for hoppin' with me! :-)
ReplyDeleteUsually I hate the flash, but very occasionally it's worth it.
DeleteYou're quite the creative sort and definitely have more varied talents than I can claim. Pleased to re-meet you. :)
ReplyDelete"Through the tree branches" is great! You should repost it after a few months and let people guess what it is.
ReplyDeletegirl, we should do a duet sometime! :D i love writing music too, i use to write country songs when i was in h.s. and sing them for the crowd when we would take the bus for soccer tournaments...ahh, memories
ReplyDeleteHey, I have collaborated with another person who lives in the US, so why not you too? :) I'm up for it!
DeleteAwesome moon pictures Trisha :)
ReplyDeleteAS a non religious person myself, I've clung to fantasy novels and paranormals that explore philosophy and religious diversity. But yeah, music sure helps that along.
You're such a creative person Trisha. I love that about your.
........dhole
Great moon pic! So clear!
ReplyDeleteAdd FLA to your next world trip stop and you can come visit me. ;)
Well, I do have another reason to visit FLA as well, so why not add you to that? :D I would love to visit that state as I never have before. There are other US states I wanna visit too, mostly so I can "collect" them all but also 'cause I've heard good things about 'em. Believe it or not Montana is on my list. hehe
DeleteHow talented! You can write while you sing songs to your cats! LOL (kidding)
ReplyDeleteLove the moon pics. :)
Let's see... when I write on my computer my cats try to sit so close it's impossible to type anymore. And when I play my guitar they run away as it freaks 'em out :P Wonder what that says about my playing...!
DeleteI admit I don't really sing to my felines but I do talk to them a lot. hehe
My doctor told me we grow accustomed to our own animal's allergens, so you can keep lovin' the kittens. :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I really wish I could have participated the Luna blogfest, but way too cloudy here the other night.
ReplyDeleteHappy to have met you!
Tim Brannan
The Other Side
I love those pictures of the moon, I wish I'd thought to take one through tree branches!
ReplyDeleteI love music, absolutely cannot go a day without listening to some. I love my cat but can't interact with her too often, since it makes my eyes swell up!
Love the lunar pic through the tree branches! P.S. You didn't have to reintroduce yourself to me. I'm happy to say I knew (most) this stuff about you. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thank you for buying my book!! Hope you enjoy the story. <3
I love that you're a singer-songwriter. My dad is too, and I loved hearing the songs he wrote!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of art? I think it's hard (for me) to get back into painting. I am too scattered. I like to write, I like to draw, etc. etc. So I am impressed with focus, which I lack. Your moon photos are haunting.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't happen to write music about cats, would you? Just kidding. I would love to hear some of your songs, though. So if/when you feel like sharing, I'll be all ears!
ReplyDeleteLove the re-intro! Very cool to learn you are a songwriter ~ coolness!
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteLOVE that someone has moved/travelled more than me... still need to visit OZ though... but I don't know how to tie me kangaroo down, mate :)
It's awesome that you're into art, music, and writing. I'm also a cat person.
ReplyDeleteI like the last pic of the moon.
Beautiful moon pictures, especially the one with the moon peeking through the trees.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a cat person too. :)
Lovely lunar pics and enjoyed the intro info about you. I love cats, writing and art too. :O)
ReplyDeleteLove the moon pictures :) And I'm obsessed with music, too. I can listen to the same song on repeat alll day.
