A-Z ... GUILTY PLEASURES

For the A-Z challenge of 2012, I'm posting an A-Z list of books I haven't yet read but want to (titles taken from my TBR shelf at GoodReads). For my G book, I've chosen the first in a popular vampire series I have never picked up a single title of...

Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #1) - Laurell K. Hamilton

Published over ten years ago by Ace, Guilty Pleasures marked the debut of a series that was destined to grow from cult favorite to a major New York Times bestseller. Now, for long-time Anita Blake junkies and newfound fans, Guilty Pleasures makes its trade paperback debut. Readers will learn how Anita Blake started raising the dead-and killing the undead. And how she met Jean Claude, the master vampire destined to become not only her biggest nemesis, but her greatest lover...
Why do I want to read it? 'Cause it's kind of legendary as far as vampire stories go, and I've got so many friends who have read these novels, and I want to find out what all the fuss with this Jean Claude dude is about!

  2. Jean Claude - totally worth reading, although he really comes into his own around book 4 or 5. I don't know what happens, because I don't think he's in later books (I haven't read past book five or six), and I'm afraid to find out. My heart would be broken if he was killed off.

  3. Hi, Interesting post. I don't think I have heard of "Guilty Pleasures". I am not a reader of the vampire genre of books. Gotta go, I am blog hopping this morning. Trying to read all the blogs before the month is up. Posted my blog at 4:30 a.m. Best regards to you. Ruby

  5. Huh. I'm like Rusty, I've heard about the author but not the book. I must investigate this dilemma.
