IWSG #6 - I am so forgetful!

I've ever so slightly lost the plot lately, when it comes to posting for things I've committed to posting for.

The Insecure Writer's Support Group is just one commitment I've been shaky with sticking to. The last time I posted for it was Wednesday, 2 April, 2014. Other times I've forgotten to post until the day after (like I am right now).

It's not just IWSG, though. I've missed a few Write ... Edit ... Publish posts here and there, and it's usually been a mad scramble to get a post up for Big Goals and Cephalopod on the last Friday of each month.

In other news, I am going at a snail's pace with editing, and I have taken months and months to try to get just one song's vocals finished for my bandmate.

This is a far cry from where I was at in 2011, achieving a ridiculous amount with my creative goals while working full time (which I still am).

It's enough to give a girl an insecurity complex!! ;)

Sorry I'm posting late, dudes. But I figure it's still July 2nd somewhere in the world.

  2. Don't stress Trisha. Maybe you could post Jules Stacyin between all those commitments.

Thanks for being a regular at WEP. I really, really appreciate it and enjoy your stories.

    1. I don't know what you mean by the Jules Stacy thing? :P was that a mistake?

I love being part of the WEP. I hope to continue as long as it does. :)

  3. It sounds like you need a long vacation to refresh yourself.
And sorry, you might need to sign up again on the IWSG list...

    1. Thanks Alex - I had been removed as of last month, so I signed up again sometime then. I am really going to try hard not to drop off the list again! I do think it's good that the list is kept up to date like that. Essential, really, for ease of use for other participants!

And a long vacation would be great! The last holiday I had was a bit too busy for a real refresh. ha. Maybe this year over Christmas I'll get some good down time!

  4. Alex is right. You need a vacation...or a good rest. It's easy to get so busy we forget to do that which we promise (if only to ourselves). Good luck.

    1. Thanks Diane - I think I am just going to have to change my approach to all my various goals. Devote one month to one particular project, and then the next month do something totally different.

Going to give it a go, anyway. ;)

  5. It sounds like it's time to rest and rejuvenate. When you do, you'll be able to get back to all of your commitments. Best wishes!

    1. Thanks, Chrys - I am almost feeling like July is a bit of a rest, even though I'm working on the music. It's good to let myself off the hook with the editing, even though I'm motivated to get it done.

  6. oooh. Yes, why not take a mini break? Come back refreshed and energized? Maybe your gut is trying to tell you something?

    1. Part of me feels that I'm having a mini-break this month, since I'm working only on music. :)

      Thanks, Karla.

  7. You're not the only one who's forgetting things. It's one of the reasons I opted to leave my job. Too much stress for too little return. I hope things slow down a bit for you.

    1. I actually rely on my full time job to keep me motivated in my time off. When I am not working, I become an even worse slacker. ;)

      Thanks for visiting, J.L. :)

  8. That's happened many times! I have to post M/W/F at 6 am for a client and I realized last night at 8:30 pm that I hadn't written Friday's post yet. Maybe it's because it's a holiday week...our brains are mush!

    1. Yeah, I know that panicked feeling when you suddenly realise you missed a post, all too well - it's not very pleasant is it? :)

      Thanks for stopping by.

  9. Heck you're within the week, so it doesn't feel late to me! I only post Wednesdays nowadays so I tend to lump a lot of stuff together :-)
Ooh, vocals for a new song, that sounds interesting :-)

    1. I will let myself get away with it if it's still the proper date *somewhere* in the world. ;) In this case, where most of the participants live. I just happen to live "in the future", which is convenient at times when I missed a deadline. ha.

  10. I once heard being late was okay, unless it was regarding 'that' time of the month. Don't sweat the small stuff; and it's all small stuff.

    1. haha, thanks for the tip Feather ;)

You're right, in the scheme of things it is all small stuff!

  11. You might've hit the seasonal slump many writers have hit. Don't worry, it goes away, even when you think it won't. :)

    1. I dunno- my slump has been going on for quite a while now. ;) But I'm still getting things done ... just rather slowly.

      Thanks for stopping by.
