Alf: Super-cheesy.

So, who is my favourite alien? To be honest I don't really have one, but I could mention a few that have meant a lot to me in my life. For one, as a kid I used to watch Alf, and looking back I think he's just about the cheesiest thing ever to grace the television screen.

Then there's the classic creepy/evil alien from...you guessed it...the Alien movies.

Can it get more creepy than this?

Totally cute!
Of course, E.T. was a special dude, and I loved him when I was a kid.

But probably my favourite aliens of recent times (recent for me, anyway) are the kids of Roswell. I know, this probably seems so very tame and boring to most of you, but I finally saw this series in the last year and I. was. obsessed.

  1. Saying hello from the blogfest...new follower here too. I remember the creepy alien from the Alien movies, and I'm relieved that not all aliens are like that... I've heard good things about the show Roswell although I haven't seen it. Thanks for sharing!

  2. ALF was great! I loved that show. And incredible the studios cancelled Roswell so soon. Great show, great concept, stupid TV executives.

  4. I just watched Roswell this last year as well - it was very good - the ending made me cry!

  5. I never really got into Alf, but you'll never find a cooler, more resilient alien than Alien without going 2D. I can envision those buggers being the basis of the first commercial sci-fi holodeck experience.

  6. Roswell is a classic! Another great choice. Who was your fav character on the show? Don't quite remember how it ended but it was the start of my Katherine Heigl crush.

  7. Hello from the bloghop!

I think I liked the alien from "Alien" better than I liked ALF :)

I think the "Hub" cable channel is/was trying to revive ALF for a new generation. That should be...interesting.

    Great picks!

  8. Me too, me too! That was a great show that was cancelled WAY before its time. I got all my sisters and my college roommates hooked on it. :D Great choice! My Martian Post. Happy Monday!

  9. I remember when we watched E.T for the first time. My brother must have been scared out of his pants for the rest of the week. I guess to some seven year old's, E.T is sort of creepy. ;)

  11. I've never seen Roswell, but I'm sure I eventually will. I had a stuffed Alf as a kid!

  12. Interesting choice. I had to go for E.T., but I did love Roswell when it was on.

  13. I'm realizing I don't have a favorite alien either since I like all the aliens I've read about today.

  14. If I was to hang out with any of them, I'd have to pick Alf...though he can't come to my house. I really like my cat!

  15. A couple cute ones and one... not so cute.
I've never seen Roswell. Read there is an Alex on the show, so maybe I should watch it.

  16. Alf was horrible looking back. LOL. I saw a few episodes of Roswell, but you're right. They were a very compelling group. Thanks for hopping in the blog hop!

  17. You've got great taste, even if you didn't really pick one favorite. I did, from the Roswell cast. Guess who I liked best? ;)

(Since openID is acting up, you can go to http://kelworthfiles.wordpress.com/ to find out...)

  18. I still want to watch this series at some point, plus Invasion. Short-lived but still worth watching.

  19. I've never seen Roswell! :( I've always heard that it's great, though.

  20. Alien-looking aliens scare me. I was terrified of ET when I watched the movie when I was little! I always wanted to watch Roswell, though, but it was on the channel that we didn't have when I was growing up.
So ... my favourite aliens are Jennifer L. Armentrout's aliens in the Lux series. (They're hot aliens!)

  22. I didn't know there was a Roswell series. I'll have to find it to check out and watch. ET was ok to me and Alien is too scary. Loved ALF tho. I mentioned him in my post too. Am now following you. Julie @ http://icreatepurtythangs.blogspot.com

  23. What a fun blog hop! I used to watch Alf, but he eats cats so I'm kinda off him :-(
Love ET though! I still can't watch the part where Elliott finds him and he's all sick and white and has his eyes closed. Poor ET!

  24. I think Alien and E.T. are probably two of the best examples of aliens in cinema - and also two of the best films. A few years ago I watched E.T. in French and the fact that I only understood a few words made absolutely no difference at all, the visual storytelling is so good. I got into Roswell briefly back when it was still Roswell High...
