Makes sense, as I'm a bit of a lush myself. haha
Seriously, now - what typos do you make most often?
In other news, below is the map of the UK tour we are doing:
(source)
I confess I'm not much of a tour person - in fact, this will be my first time going on a major tour while travelling. I've done the minor kind - like a walking tour of Prague, some organised trips to distant places in Turkey (after which you could wander about the sites at will)...oh, and I did a pirate tour in Bristol too! The friend I was with has always claimed that the pirate dude was a bit tipsy. The point I'm making here is that this trip's tour will be a very different beast.
There are a lot of stops to be excited about, of course. But the ones I can't get out of my head are the pass through the Lake District, and the visit to Robin Hood's Sherwood Forest. hehe. (I'm hoping to see at least some men in tights!) I'm also fascinated by Culloden (hello Jamie Fraser!) and Inverness. But that's just for a start.
Anyway, I'll end this post here, because I'll be talking a bit more about my upcoming travels in Mark Koopmans's "Got Green?" blog hop on Saturday. Check out Mark's blog if you don't know what I'm on about. And in the meantime, tell me this:
What travels have you done;
will you be doing in future;
do you want to do someday?
Enjoy your tour, you're visiting some amazing places; Glastonbury is so unique, Salisbury, Bath and York are just gorgeous, gorgeous places.
ReplyDeleteWhen you come through Devon, pick me up and I'll hide in your suitcase. I want to come too!
I've visited Bath before, but the others you mentioned are new to me! hehe. I also visited Bristol, and...Cheddar. for about 7 mins. hehehe
DeleteOh, and if a pirate isn't tipsy, he's not a real pirate!
ReplyDeleteI write "go tit" instead of "got it" all the time, and it still makes me giggle like some little kid, lol!
ReplyDeleteNiiice. that sounds like it could be a new insult, i.e. "go jump" becomes "go tit". hehehe. I think I've done 'go tit' myself a fair few times! ;)
DeleteGlastonbury and Bath are lovely places. In fact, so's Stratford and Fort William. Ah, I'm jealous now. It's a shame you're not passing into Cornwall, though! Some lovely places down here.
ReplyDeleteIt is a pity! Maybe someday though. My little brother visited there once - it was wintery but he still went surfing. nearly froze! haha
DeleteOoo, have SO much fun! I just went to Ireland last summer. We didn't do a tour, so I was stuck driving a manual car on the wrong side of the road.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was so much fun!
But this coming summer I'm doing a Mediterranean Cruise. Definitely more 'tour like'. I know that's going to be just as awesome.
Take LOTS of pictures! :)
I would LOVE to do a cruise sometime. I've never done one of those. Even if my trips around some Greek Islands came close, it still wasn't as luxurious as I would have liked. hehe
DeleteOMG! You are going to be coming near to where I live!! We should do lunch! :D
ReplyDeleteSounds fabulous! If you want to email me to talk about the details, my email is up on the right hand side of my blog (look for the little email icon). Some of the stops we are possibly not stopping at for long, but at the very least we could say hi :D
DeleteHave a great time. My sDaughter went to school there for a year and she loved it. Take lots and lots of pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh man I am jealous! I barfly know how to respond. Looks like a great tour. Have a blast.
ReplyDeletehehe I barfly know how to respond in turn ;)
DeleteThis is a great time to visit the UK. We're having glorious weather, (possibly short lived).
ReplyDeleteI grew up quite close to Sherwood. Never see any men in tights, though. If you do, please post the photos.
Hey Trisha,
ReplyDeleteTHANKS for the Shout O'ut for the Blog O'hop :)
And, looking at the map, it looks like you're heading to Dublin and a tour of Ireland, too... that's going to be awesome... have fun and oh, PS... I lived in Nottingham for a year and nary a man in tights did I see... (although I wasn't looking, either!!!)
I will certainly post pictures if I see any men in tights! hehe
ReplyDeleteI do a lot of hte instead of the. I came across a couple of fun typos when I read through my NaNo novel, but I can't remember any of them off hte top of my head. Ooh, enjoy your tour! I like to see things in my own way and on my own time, but tours can be great, too. I'm going to France in May and I'm so excited to be going back to one of my favorite places and visiting a new city I haven't visited before (Strasbourg).
ReplyDeleteHappy Trails!
-Vicki
Oh, I would dearly love to see the UK one day. *dies of envy*. :P
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'll be looking forward to your post for the Got Green hop! Meanwhile, have fun on your travels.
ReplyDeleteFun tour! I'd love to see the UK someday.
ReplyDeleteAs for spelling errors, I repeatedly spell frustrated "frusturated". Which in turn, makes me frustrated. : )
"Frusturated" sounds like something I'd write on purpose, like "edumacated". hehe
DeleteBarfly. :) That's beats how I usually misspell barely.
ReplyDeleteI've got tons of words I typically misspell even I know how to spell them properly. I always type them wrong.
So cool about your trip. Have a blast.
ReplyDeleteI have found I can make a typo out of anything. But any word with an 'O' and an 'I' next to each other will get typed in the wrong order more often than they will the correct one.
Also, I did type 'teh' at least twice by accident here before I saw them and corrected them.
Niiice...but I do believe that 'teh' is the cool way to write 'the' nowadays, right? :)
DeleteI know what you mean about typo potential - sometimes if I'm in a particularly messy state of mind I might make the same typo about 10 times before finally getting it right. Maybe it's a little 'brain twitch' situation.
Oh, and I just wrote 'brian' instead of brain. That's another fun one :)
A saying we have at work when our brains are in distress? "My brian is flailing".
My worst typo is withe, meaning with the. Of course, there is restruraunt, cuz I just can't spell restruant without spell checker.
ReplyDeleteI was stationed in Germany for three years, so we traveled Europe a bit - Paris, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Rome. Missed much of Germany though, lol. And I've been to Washington DC, Arlington VA, Amarillo TX. I've seen some beautiful places, and there are lots of places I'd like to go still.
I wish you much fun in your travels. Its so much fun to be a tourist. Keep a tight grip on your purse and passpsort :)
........dhole
I love to travel and was in the UK a couple years ago. We traveled independent from Edinburgh through New Castle/Sunderland, York, and down to London. We worked our way around Bath, Stafford Upon Avon, Stonehenge. This tour looks great. I'd love to go to Robin Hood's forest. :)
ReplyDeleteTake me with you! :-) Seriously, your post has me motivated to plan a trip. There are parts of Canada that I haven't seen yet and would love to see...
ReplyDeleteI don't think any of my typos are as amusing as barfly!
ReplyDeleteAnd wow, you seem to be touring a LOT of the UK!
Barfly ... YIKES! hahaha!
ReplyDeleteAnd, what an exciting trip to take! I love seeing different parts of the world. Enjoy!
That makes two great words I've collected today--barfly [which I really like] and trollism. Happy St. Pats!
ReplyDeleteWish I had such a cool typo ;) Your tour looks/sounds incredible! Can't wait to read your posts about it!
ReplyDeleteEerr... my typos are downright embarrassing. :(
ReplyDeleteI wish I could travel. Actually it's one of the things I have on my bucket list :)
