BuNoWriMo rebellion thus far

So it's June 4th, and therefore 4 days into BuNoWriMo. So far I have done more work on my edits than I did throughout all of May, which is what I was hoping for.

Because I'm editing and not writing, I'm what you'd class as a "BuNoWriMo Rebel" - yep, we have badges for the rebels as well. Here is one I picked out of the line-up:

Anyway, I got finished with that completely pesky 8-page chapter that had basically been sitting on its second edit for most of May, gathering dust. That was Chapter 13.

Then I got to Chapter 14, and I am currently ready to do the second paper edit of that one. I'll do that tonight, and hopefully even transcribe it.

Chapter 14 is easier because it's only 4-and-a-tiny-bit pages long.

So, that's how I'm going with BuNo so far. I can't wait to get this edit done so I can move on to editing another project. ;)

How are your Junes going so far?

  1. It's a good feeling to be energized to do an edit to get to the next story in your brain!! Go rebel go!

    1. It's certainly preferable to being desperate to get finished but so bogged down you can't lift an editing finger. :P

  2. Edit away! Especially if it's coming along so well.

    1. Only just started to ... but I must admit it's still a tiny bit too slow. It's hard when every chapter needs a whole heap of work, meaning multiple revisions one after the other. urgh.

  3. June is creeping along toward my vacation road trip which will be epic. Maybe more epic than I'd really like. Good for you on the writing focus--the editing is important.

    1. Sounds like epic in a really good way, but possibly exhausting? I hope you have a great road trip! (I love those things)

    1. LOL, thanks Danette. Usually I don't hate editing, but this one is proving a real challenge. Way more challenging than I would like.

Sounds like you've got it under control.

  6. Editing is important. Think more of it as perfecting! It is time well spent. ♥

    1. Yep, 'perfecting' is a good way to think of it.

It has a few phases - the first one is "slashing and burning and rearranging".

  7. I haven't done that much writing this week, but this afternoon my vacation starts, so I can get plenty done this summer.

Editing isn't my favorite thing to do, but I like to get it over with.

    1. I hope your writing is going well, Medeia!

I quite enjoy editing, USUALLY ... but lately I seem to be struggling. It's possible it's the novel I'm editing. But then I had trouble even settling on which novel to edit, and sometimes got started on one only to give up.
