Kreativ and Versatile Blogger awards

Versatile Blogger (new badge!) and Kreativ Blogger awards, from Lara Schiffbauer

A while back, I was awarded these two badge thingies above by Lara Schiffbauer (who is totally cool if you haven't found out yet! Go visit her blog!). I've won the Versatile Blogger award before, but this one is a new style of badge, so I had to show it off! Still, I'm going to focus on the Kreative Blogger award, since that's a newey!

What it's about: I'm thinking it means being creative, but with different spelling. Right?

What I have to do: Tell you 6 things about myself...
  1. In general, I'm pretty uncreative with spelling - I like to spell things the traditional (Australian English) way! I'm very stubborn in that regard
  2. I don't particularly consider myself a patriot, and I get rather irritated with hot-headed patriotic idiots who insist on believing they're better than anyone else on earth just because they were born on a certain chunk of land
  3. One of the songs I hate most in the entire universe is "Love Shack" by the B-52s. I'm sorry, but I just can't love it!!
  4. I hate it when I see CD's or DVD's (or similar collections of letters) written that way, with the apostrophe. It's not like you're saying "Yes, I'm going to CD's place, you know my friend CD?" and if you're doing it 'cause you think that there are letters missing (which, of course, there are), well why not write it as C'D's then?
  5. I really hate summer, and yet I seem to live in the summer capital of the bloody world, and I don't want to move anywhere (despite the fact that living here under the hole in the ozone layer has probably contributed greatly to the skin cancer problem I'm having at present - thankfully it's all benign, but it's still a pain...in the forehead!)
  6. For the first time in forever, right now I'm feeling like I do not want to travel for many years to come (I have been travelling on and off for the past 5 years and I'm a bit over being broke because of it, quite frankly).

  1. You number 5 is my hatred as well! I love fall and winter and dread when spring and summer come around the corner cuz I know I'm stuck with the lawn chores, the heat and the boring blue sky. Yes, this is how I feel. My ideal summer is the gray clouds and the beating rain on my driveway...but that's just me! Huh, I wonder if I'm making any sense...

    1. That's exactly how I feel! Of course it's easy for me to love winter when it's not the sort of debilitating winter other people suffer. But I still love it, so there. :) I actually quite like spring too, but it does have the downside of heralding the coming summer.

  2. I'm not big on travelling - I guess I've got it too good at home because I don't like to leave.

    1. I love travelling, but I also love to return home. :)

  3. I hate summer as well...it's just not as much fun as winter. No Christmas, too many bugs, too much heat...

    1. Well, for me, winter doesn't equal Christmas...but it equals a happy Trisha in every other way. ;)

  4. Love Shack! Oh man, I haven't heard that song forever! When I was little I would bust quite a move to that tune... now I wonder why. ;)

    Thanks for the award!!

    1. Yeah, when I was a kid it was extremely popular. I guess it still is today! Every time it's played on radio or at a party though, I start twitching.

  5. I would love to travel more, but I agree -- it's hard to do it without being broke, and that's no fun!

    1. Yes, and I've also travelled A LOT already...so it's not like it's something new. I always love it though (except when I have to get 8 flights just to get home, anyway :P).

  6. So fun to learn more about you. On the one hand, I'd love to travel, but I'm such a homebody. :)

    1. I am too, and I think that's why I've only ever travelled and not actually stayed somewhere else to live.

  7. No Love Shack for me, either! I never (and I mean NEVER) could understand the appeal for that song. Come to think of it, I don't particularly care for the B-52's. I think there was one song I liked of theirs, and now I can't even remember the name! Thanks for thinking I'm cool! I think you're the first!

    1. Yeah, I haven't heard much of their stuff, but what I have heard hasn't really grabbed me. At least they were quite revolutionary in their time, I guess ;)

  8. LOL, I really like Love Shack! :D

I definitely agree with you about summer. It's lovely to be warm and see the sunshine, but I am much more of a winter girl!

    1. In my experience, most people do. haha. Nothing to be ashamed of, I just can't stand it myself! Quite possibly because of how overplayed it's been for...well, ever. ;)

  9. No love for "Love Shack"?! That song definitely brings me back. I'm totally with you on summer.

    1. I know, it's pretty controversial isn't it? hehe.
and yeah, summer is way overrated! ;) I do like spring though!

  11. You had me laughing out loud on some of those. I could just hear you saying them. Too funny. And yep, being broke will pretty much put the kabosh on more travels!

    Congrats on the awards!

    1. Yep, and I'd rather be broke for other reasons - i.e. I actually own a house of my own & need to pay the mortgage! ;)

  12. Haha! CD's! Congrats on the awards!

  13. Congratulations on the awards!

I've seen CD's/DVD's, too--and it is rather annoying. But people seem to stick random apostrophes everywhere. :P

  14. Congrats on the awards. You're passing it on to some amazing bloggers!

  15. Yep, it seems that apostrophes are the new black! hahaha

  16. Thanks for the tag. I thought I'd commented on this the other day, but I don't see my comment. Always good to let those little bits of personal trivia trickle out.

  18. Thanks lady!! And I love your answers. But I guess you don't ever want to hop in my Chrysler (it's as big as a whale, and it's about to set sail)?

    1. I'd much rather not hop in your Chrysler that's as big as a whale, you're right. hehehe. But I have been in a Chrysler before! I shall be writing about that in my next travel entry actually :)

  19. Hey! yay for my first blog comment!!! Squee! haha :) I like this place so far though I am kinda struggling to navigate it and yes there are a lot of options for making stuff pretty but, erm, I'm not that clued up on how to do it all yet!!! lol.

    1. Yeah, it takes some getting used to. Particularly now that they've made it really annoying for me to edit my posts and pages - I can't do it from the 'front end' anymore, have to go into the editor area :P

I should mention that if you're here at blogger I will be more likely to keep up with your blog than if you were at some other random site. :D
