A reading/writing update

Okay, so I feel like I've really slacked off on my goals, even though I've written about 24,000 words already in June. 22k of those were for BuNoWriMo, but now that I'm done with that story I need to move onto something else. I've got other stories to choose from, but the problem is having too many. I could fill out the finished story here and there, but I think I need to just move onto something that I know I can churn out words for.

I'm counting my Chrysalis stories in my June wordcount, so those have added another 2k+ to the overall wordcount. I wrote this week's Chrysalis story last night, and kind of loved it. But it's another of those stories that feels like a beginning. I've written a fair few of those this year. I guess I could work on continuing any of them. But the problem is having too much choice!

Anyway...news on another goal of mine - reading. I'm nearly done with Cassandra Clare's City of Ashes, and then I'll move onto June's classic read, which is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass. Yep, way overdue with starting that one! But I'm nearly there. So this is my 23rd book, and Alice will be the 24th. Then just one more book and I've met my yearly reading goal. ;) I set the bar nice and low, to be sure I'd make it. Hehe.

As for the other goals...yeah, gotta start cracking that whip!

But how is everyone else going with their goals/projects???

Reading...it's all I do

I guess I can be thankful I'm still well on track with at least one of my 2011 Goals - reading!

2011 Reading Challenge

2011 Reading Challenge
Trisha has read 20 books toward her goal of 25 books.

Just finished reading Cat Dreamer by Isobelle Carmody, and now I'm onto another relatively short book, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. I'm at page 32 and loving it so far. I had to choose short books as when June starts it's time for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass. Also June is when BuNoWriMo starts. It has a Facebook group page now - check it out!

I'm thinking that it'll be fun to give over with revisions for a time and indulge in a major writing fest instead. It's been too long since I just wrote and wrote with no care about what was to come later (revisions, argh!). Maybe after I've done BuNoWriMo, I'll be more invigorated and refreshed when thinking about revisions.

I have done a bit more on NAUSICAA revisions, but not much. I'm also wanting to get back to SUNDOWN, but I think I need to give it more of a rest. I have chapters 1-16 up on ElitistCritiques, and if I can get more feedback on those then I'll be able to go from there. I haven't done the print-out yet of course, since I haven't finished that "latest round of revisions" I mention in my Goals list.

How are you guys going with your goals right now??
