What I have read so far this year...

...And what I'm currently reading:

Yep, I'm still "reading" the Grimm fairytales. I don't even know where the book is, actually... Remember I decided I wanted to review each story as I went along, which meant I would have to go back and review stories I'd already read? Yeah, didn't happen. Isn't happening. But I will do it someday, I swear!!

But in general, looking at what I've read this year, I see that my reading range has really expanded since the olden days when I only read fantasy. This year I've read fiction and non-fiction, young adult and adult, historical and contemporary, dystopian, romance, murder mystery/crime, horror, short stories and long.

What has your reading list looked like this year?

  2. As always, you are an overachiever. I haven't read as many books but I have read some variety-- but I don't know if I could name them right now. I'd have look at my Goodreads list, I guess.

  3. Great list of books you have there and great range of genres. I've certainly branched out in the type of books I've read this year as well.

  4. Which one was your favorite? The only one of the books on your pile I've read is the Princess Bride.

  6. That's a lot of books. I'm trying to think back over the books I've read, quite a few. Done some re-reads, and have read books from people whose blogs I follow. It has been an ecclectic reading year so far.

    1. Next year I think I may give myself permission to do more re-reads!

  7. You've done a lot of reading!

More non-fiction that usual on my list this year, and a lot of YA and SF/F (both YA and Adult), which is normal.

  8. That's a good mix of stuff. I think blogging is a good way of exposing ourselves to stuff we may not normally consider. I mean, there's a whole lot of YA authors out there and quite a few I'd like to read.

    1. I totally agree - a lot of the stuff I've read/put on my TBR list is stuff I have read about on other writers' blogs :)

  9. That is a nice mix of genres. I'm sticking mostly to YA right now (I feel so behind!), but I've got a few non-fic's and adult novels hanging around waiting for attention.

I also love that you read more than one book at a time. I do too. :)

    1. I never used to, but this year I seem to have got into the habit of it ;) It's 'cause I'm trying to get through the eBooks on my list (hard slog) while also enjoying reading a real paper book :D.

  10. I didn't know Girl, Interrupted was a book! I've only ever known of the movie. My reading range isn't nearly as widespread as yours. It's cool that you've read so many different things :-)

  11. I like that the Hunger Games comes right after the Princess Bride. THAT would be a very interesting crossover, no? :P

    1. I think you may have to do something with that. Though I know you have already mentioned both archer heroines and POUSes in your Catrina chronicles. ;)

  12. Awesome reading list, Trisha! I can't believe you've read so many books already. I am working my way through The Hunger Games trilogy right now. :) Currently on Catching Fire! The New Yorker and The Princess Bride both seem interesting...is the latter connected to the movie called The Princess Bride?

    1. Hi Wendy - yes, the Princess Bride book (Goldman's abridged version) is the version that the movie is based on :)

  13. What did you think of 'This is a call' Trisha?

  14. What a great pile. I laughed at seeing Funhouse on that list. I've got that book, exact same copy too!

  15. The only ones I've read from this list are Dewey and The Hunger Games trilogy of course. I'm also sorta kinda reading The Grimm Fairy Tales. My best friend and I read them together sometimes when she's over.

I think my reading range this year has broadened slightly. I'm currently trying not to think about reading since I'm so far behind on my goal. :P
