A to Z ~ Anatomy of Wings, the

This year my A to Z theme harks back to 2012's theme, in which I listed an A-to-Z of books from my GoodReads "TBR" shelf. This year I want to revisit that list and report on which ones I've read, and what rating I gave them. Where the book hasn't been read, I'll mention other books starting with that letter I have read since 2012. ;)

"A" ... THE ANATOMY OF WINGS

A-Z ... THE ANATOMY OF WINGS

The A-Z challenge for 2012 is here, and I've decided to do an A-Z list of books I have never read but that are on my TBR list (and on my to-read shelf at GoodReads, incidentally). Keep in mind that these posts are all scheduled, so if they don't post automatically or get posted in the wrong order or something, blame Blogger (or alternatively, blame me for being useless at scheduling stuff properly!). Anyway, let's get on with it!

A
Anatomy of Wings, the - Karen Foxlee
Ten-year-old Jennifer Day lives in a small mining town full of secrets. Trying to make sense of the sudden death of her teenage sister, Beth, she looks to the adult world around her for answers.

As she recounts the final months of Beth’s life, Jennifer sifts through the lies and the truth, but what she finds are mysteries, miracles, and more questions. Was Beth’s death an accident? Why couldn’t Jennifer—or anyone else—save her?

Through Jennifer’s eyes, we see one girl’s failure to cross the threshold into adulthood as her family slowly falls apart.
Why do I want to read it? I saw somebody recommend it and it looked pretty gripping and good!
