Reporting from Day 16 of NaNo
It's November 16th, so we're over halfway through NaNoWriMo 2014.
I'm currently at 32,833 words, which is a result of me writing the bare minimum some nights, and far less than the bare minimum other nights.
Early on I had some good nights where I wrote well above the bare minimum.
It's all averaged out to me being 6,216 words ahead of schedule, even without having completed today's word count.
I feel that I got over a big slow-going section and from here on in I should be able to speed up a bit, or at least find the writing more free-flowing.
But I guess only time will tell!
I hope you are all having great Novembers. :)
Now I have to go outside with my cat as he's meowing his head off demanding some attention. He likes me to go for walks down the driveway with him.

Awesome! You are going to beat it for sure.
ReplyDeleteNow, go walk your cat.
Thanks, Alex. :P
DeleteI walked him and he just wanted to roll in the sand. ;)
Hi Trish. Thanks for your efforts in adding me to your blogroll. Google is doing something different. I have been taking notice of all the international bloggers I follow -- they all have au after their address. D.G. Hudson has added me successfully with a .ca (she comes from Canada) at the end. But it should work for you being in Oz to add .au. Beats me. How complicated!
ReplyDeleteNaNo.Well, I"m not putting pressure on myself. I'm only at 12,000+ words, but I've been stopping and writing backstory etc so my story has more depth. I don't expect to finish, but I"ll be happier with my story.
Congrats for your excellent word count!!
Denise :)
I'm glad you're using the opportunity of NaNo to work toward one of your goals.
DeleteI still haven't figured out the riddle of how to get your new blog on my blog roll. Now I'm wondering if the problems other people have had in the past making mine work are the same as the problems I'm having now! I tried removing my 'following' of your blog, and re-adding. Thought it had worked for a time, but soon found it hadn't.
Maybe I'll figure out the magic formula someday!
Hi Trish. I see that some bloggers have their own country code after my URL...D.G. Hudson got it to work as she copied what was on my blog when she arrived...it had .ca (for Canada) after it. So therefore I reckon if people just copy the URL when they land on your blog and add that to the blogroll it should work...er, SHOULD!!!!
DeleteHi Trisha .. well done - progressing on ...
ReplyDeleteI asked when I saw people from the States particularly had .co.uk after their blogger name - why .. and I was told that was one of the options for English ...
Strange ... cheers and glad your cat enjoys his walks with you ... Hilary
Thanks, Hilary - I know I have .com.au after my blog, which was a new thing a few years ago. But now it's all very weird when trying to change a person's link in a blog roll.
DeleteBlogger doesn't seem in the mood to do it properly. ;)
Wonderful progress. I imagine the cat feels ignored during NaNo.
ReplyDeleteProbably, though I don't feel I've spent much time at all writing, despite my word count. ;) And I've always been interrupting the writing to say hi to the cat.
DeleteI use to walk my cat in the park. He was a rescue cat and had been declawed, so he couldn't be let outside alone, so he had a leash. Dog walkers thought I was weird.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, declawing is such a horrible practice :( It's illegal in Australia, and I know in the US people are getting more cluey on what it's all about too. My friend had a cat she'd declawed as well, but only realised later what it actually involved - removing part of their "fingers".
DeleteI did see a cat being "walked" around here many years ago - but it would just stop, eat some grass/flowers, and then basically insist on being picked up. haha. So I don't think they walked far. ;)
I got some good cat time in today. It's a fine way to spend November.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear you're ahead of schedule. Huzzah!
My life at the moment seems to be about getting cat time in. haha.
DeleteI did manage to move one foster boy on, though I do miss him. Not so much at dinner time when he was a royal pain in the butt, though!
Thankfully, our current residents don't show much interest in human food but we had a calico once who was a royal pain - sneaky, too...
ReplyDeleteYep, some of the kitties out there are incredibly naughty ... and crafty!
DeleteYou're killing it! You always so do great at NaNo, Trisha.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. It was the kick-in-the-butt I needed to get back to it. I've been dallying for weeks!
No worries - glad I could give you that needed nudge towards posting an update. :)
DeleteI didn't get to write a single word yesterday :/ Not happy!
Those slow sections can be really frustrating, so it's good that you are beyond that now. How funny that you go on little walks with your cat.
ReplyDeleteYep, they really can be frustrating - but you just have to keep dragging your carcass along till you get through. ;)
DeleteMy kitty is a weirdo, but so cute. The vet always wants to keep him, whenever we go for a visit. ha.

ReplyDeleteDear Trisha,
I'm impressed!
Good work!
I got off to a slow start. My children needed me. And now I am too tired to make up for the lossed time and word count.
I'm rooting for you.
Best wishes,
Anna
a.k.a Sara L. Nilsson, which is my NaNoWriMo-name
wow girlie!! amazing. I'm sure you'll knock this one out :D
ReplyDeleteAll the best with the NaNo!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your progress!!
ReplyDeleteMy cat always meows at me to play with her, especially in the morning when I want to write before work.
Too funny about your cat liking you to take walks with him/her down the driveway:)
